Calling all Coastal Cowgirls, Savannah Banana fans, Mother’s, The Beach Boys fans, and everyone who needs Memorial Day plans this year, check out what’s happening in your community in the month of May!

May is here and that means there’s plenty of amazing things to do in your area! Whether you’re looking for exciting ways to spend time with friends, new recreational activities, great entertainment or just something fun and different to try – this month is full of opportunities and possibilities. From festivals to concerts and theater shows, sports games to picnics in the park – end the warm weather months in style by exploring everything your community has to offer. The anticipation of summer combined with the promise of so many unforgettable events makes May an ideal time to get out there and start creating amazing memories!

Savannah Bananas Home Game

When: May 11th & 13th 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Where: Grayson Stadium 

Coastal Cowboy

When: May 13th 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Where: 14th Street on Tybee Island

Bringing the coastal cowgirl energy to Tybee! No boots, no shirt, no problem! See you cowboys and girls at 9am!!

$15 includes 45 minute dance workout and coffee to follow! Bring friends and meet new ones!

Meet on the beach by 14th street and you will see our setup!

RH Farmer’s Market- Mother’s Day Event 

When: May 13th at 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Where: Richmond Hill History Museum 

Come enjoy live music, family friendly activities and shop the market! We are so lucky to have fresh bread, local produce, eggs, meats, seafood and other amazing vendors for a true one stop shop!

Mother’s Day Cruise

When: May 14th times vary

Where: Savannah Riverboat Cruises 

Prices:  Adult:  $78.95 – Child:  $41.95 (ages 5-12)  Children 4 & under:  FREE

Yappy Hour

When: May 15th at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Where: Starland Yard

Enjoy a fun, family friendly evening with your pup. Food trucks, libations and themed pooch party. Hosted by the Savannah Kennel Club and sponsored by Hipster Hound for the benefit of local rescue organizations. No admission. Every third Wednesday of the moth thru October.

2023 Tybee Beach Bum Parade

When: May 19th at 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Where: North Beach on Tybee Island

The parade kicks off at 6:30PM at the North Beach Parking Lot and makes it way through the Island on HW80 / Butler Ave all the way to Tybrisa Street. Register your float now for all the FUN!!!! 

SPECTATORS ON THE PARADE ROUTE ARE FREE – GET THERE EARLY WITH YOUR WATER WEAPONS LOADED!

Dancing Stars of Coastal Georgia 

When: May 20th at 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Where: Savannah Convention Center

Ladies get ready to bejewel yourselves with your most glamorous cocktail attire!

Gentleman, it’s time to get polished & black-tie apropos!!

Savannah’s most exciting, action-packed annual gala – Dancing Stars of Coastal Georgia – is back.  This year’s Celebrity Star Dancer cast is packed with the fiercest set of competitors thus far, all vying for one if not both of the trophies!

Who will be who will win the People’s Choice Award in 2023? Who will win the Judges Choice Award in 2023? Don’t miss this nail biting fundraising and dance competition which is sure to sell out before event night. Get your tickets today! This event WILL SELL OUT!!

When: May 21st at 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Where: Johnny Mercer Civic Center 

Savannah Salutes Memorial Day Weekend Celebration

When: May 26th- May 29th

Where: Plant Riverside District 

Free Family-Friendly Event to Feature Live Music, Cirque Performances, Fountain Shows and More! 

Plant Riverside District – which is known as Savannah’s Entertainment District – will host a special “Savannah Salutes” Memorial Day Weekend Celebration from Friday, May 26 through Monday, May 29 along Savannah’s historic riverfront at 400 W. River St. This family-friendly, patriotic event is free and open to the public.

The four-day “Savannah Salutes” Memorial Day Weekend Celebration at Plant Riverside District offers free live music as well as nightly fountain shows and food and drink options for all ages.
